Matt Schulz

Owner/Sales

Matt grew up in Glenwood, IA and eventually married his high school sweetheart Mallory. Both Matt and Mallory quit their jobs and moved from Omaha in 2021 to Ankeny for Matt to start The HomeLife Brothers with Ryan. They have two sons Dean and Lane and two dogs Opie and Scout which means they are a busy family!!! Matt graduated with a BA in Finance from Wayne State College, spent several years in the banking industry before leaving the office for the construction industry. Matt's passion in the business is taking an idea and building it into something he can be proud of.

Ryan Wikstrom

Owner/Operations

Ryan was born and raised on the family farm in Mt Vernon, Ia. After College in Iowa City, Ryan moved to Des Moines in 2006 as a manager for Sears where he spent 12 years. He then began working as a Paramedic/Firefighter, working side jobs and later full time into construction. Ryan lives in Urbandale with his wife Dani and son Kenson. Ryan's love of remodeling houses started as a hobby fixing his own houses up. It now extends into helping friends on the weekends, working in The HomeLife Brothers, and can be found at or hosting most Real Estate Investing groups around the State.

    Nate is someone who enjoys the simple things in life — cruising in his classic car on a sunny day, hanging out with his chocolate lab (who thinks he runs the house), and cheering on Iowa football every chance he gets. He likes to keep life fun, relaxed and full of good company. He also has 25 years of experience in the industry.

    Lead Carpenter

    Dave recently got married to his wife Katie and together they share two crazy dogs. Dave has been working as a carpenter for the last 12 years, part of those 12 years took him out to the west coast. In his free time, Dave enjoys playing the guitar and working on guitars.

    Lead Carpenter

    Colin grew up in the Des Moines Metro area. He has been a carpenter for the last 3 years. Outside of work Colin enjoys live music, riding motorcycles, hiking and camping. Pretty much anything that he can do while spending time outdoors.

  • Dakota

    Lead Carpenter

    Dakota brings 8 years of hands-on experience to the trades. When he isn’t on the job, you can find him outdoors, either tinkering with projects or enjoying activities like camping, kayaking, or riding ATVs. He is always eager to learn, grow and take on new challenges.

  • Caleb

    Lead Carpenter

    Caleb has 10+ years of experience in the industry, starting as a laborer doing custom homes in Okoboji. When he isn’t working, he likes to golf and work on cars. Go Cyclones!

    Randall grew up in the heart of Des Moines, always doing something outside with his friends or cousins. He now enjoys living the quiet life in small town Iowa with his girlfriend, Shelby, and their dog and two cats. He has worked in the remodeling industry for 4 years. When he’s not working, you can find him tinkering on old vehicles, fishing, or spending time with family and friends.
